Pension Angelo

Great value for money in a perfect location for skiing.

Pros: Great location hotel (with a car- as it is up a hill); we loved how close the slope was and pretty much skied in and out. In the room the bed was amazing, it was very clean and the room had the most wonderful view. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Cons: The shower was just a shower extension on the bath.

Pros: The entire accommodation was unbeatable. Upon check-in, we were informed that we would be staying in a better room, which was a pleasant surprise. The lady at the reception was extremely friendly and willing to assist us with anything. The breakfast included in the price was very generous. We highly recommend it.

Cons: We have no complaints.

Pros: Beautiful views from room. Very comfortable room. Great breakfast so much choice. It was really nice to be able to use swimming pool in hotel.

Cons: It was a steep walk back if you walked down to restaurants so no good if you are not fit.

Pros: Comfy bed, pleasant staff, car park near room. Restaurant next door excellent dinner and breakfast.

Enjoyable stay in perfectly situated Corvara. Treat yourself to dinner in the SportHotel Panorama. It was delicious!

Pros: Location was good for reaching hiking locations by car.

Cons: No facility to dry clothing & boots. Everyone resorted to using radiators in the hallway. Big sign saying NO CLOTHING ALLOWED IN THE SAUNA and STEAM ROOMS. As a result, guess what-no one used these facilities. Shame you have to be a nudist!

Pros: Pension Angelo: We spent a week at Pension Angelo during our hiking trip in the Dolomites, staying in a room on the lowest floor facing the parking lot. In general, the place seems quite run down and there is a list of things that could be improved. The interior is very outdated and in some parts of the hotel the carpets have an unpleasant smell. The mattress was not very comfortable and the sound isolation was awful - the walls are paper thin and you can hear absolutely everything what is happening in the nearby rooms. There are no tea/coffee making facilities anywhere in the hotel. The breakfast was alright with a relatively wide selection, except that there were no vegetables. We saw an occasional dirty cup or a plate. Breads and pastries were freshly baked and tasty. The staff were always very polite and helpful when the breakfast was served.

Cons: Our most unpleasant incident happened when we were due to go on an early hike to see the sunrise and found ourselves locked inside the building. All three doors were locked and it was not possible to get out. Pension Angelo doesn’t have its own reception - check in and check out are done at Sporthotel Panorama, so we tried calling the reception there multiple times but no one answered (not even the night service which was marked on the sheet with the telephone numbers). This was the first time during our travelling experience when we were locked inside the building with no possibility to get out, except through the window. There were no signs or warnings by reception that they lock the building during the night and it’s not possible to get out. They may be doing that for safety reasons, but we found this experience stressful and very unpleasant. This left us wondering what would happen if there was an emergency, because even the doors marked with the emergency exit sign were locked. Therefore, early hikers please be aware that you may not be able to leave the building. We were also disappointed to find out as soon as we arrived that there is construction work happening right by the building. I understand that this is not the fault of the hotel, but seeing and hearing construction workers a meter away from your window doesn’t add to the positive experience. Overall, there were a few good things about Pension Angelo, but unfortunately they did not outweigh the bad things and we did not feel that we got our money’s worth. We would not return or recommend this place for other travellers seeking comfort.

Excellent position for skiing.

Pros: Excellent position for skiing. Great breakfast. Very clean. Large rooms and bathrooms. Parking is safe.

Cons: Would have loved a coffee/tea station in a common area. Not necessary to have a kettle in each room but somewhere to make a hot cup of tea after skiing would have been really nice. Sauna is unisex which is not a problem if you know.

Great location with friendly staff. close to the slopes and a short drive to the town center

Pros: The location close to the slopes and the view were the best part of the hotel. (if you have a car to get to town)

Cons: that someone try 3 times to enter my room before check out

Nice pension in wooden style, close to the slopes

Pros: Spacious rooms, relatively close to ski slopes, parking in front of the building

Cons: Short bed - problem for taller people, no shower gel, roof window couldnt be closed, rather distant to the village
