Waldrast - Forestside Living

Highly recommended

Pros: These were amazing 3 days. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to combine relax, sports and hiking. The hotel is perfect in every aspects: very friendly staff, a delicious and rich breakfast, a well-maintained spa, a comfortable and clean room with a comfortable mattress and pillows, amazing view of the Siusi Alps. We got a room with an en suite bathroom, which was a really nice bonus. The ski lift is a 5-minute walk from the hotel and you even can reach upper part by car. The city Castelrotto is a 40-minute walk away and it is also beautiful.

Pros: Location and facilities outstanding. Also bonus washing machine and drier at a cost but handy.

Relaxing

Pros: Decor, coziness, restaurant, proximity to cable car, spa and pool.

Cons: Pool could be warmer, it was a lot colder than other hotel pools we had been to in the dolomites. Spa only open from 2-8

Wish we could have stayed longer- perfect oasis to relax after long hiking days.

Pros: Beautiful location, in the forest, but also not closed in, in a quiet street but close to the centre and only a 5-10minute walk from the gondola that goes up onto the plateau and where you access higher altitude mountain walks. It's also on the walking route into the forest to access Refugio Bolzano. The ambience and feel of the place is so relaxing and calming. It was great to stay here after multiple days hiking and have the sauna and adult pool (there's also a bigger 'everyone' pool), and a drink in the sun in the lovely gardens looking up at the mountain. Bed was really comfortable, breakfast was fabulous. My partner didn't particularly like the room layout, but I did! Loved having a balcony as well. Would have loved to stay longer and will definitely be trying to come back! We did our whole trip on public transport and this was within 5-10minutes of the main bus route.

Cons: As I say, my partner didn't particularly like the room layout and prefers more separation between bedroom and bathroom, but I thought it was a great design. The only thing I would add is having a kettle in the room and a way to make tea/coffee in the room.

Exceptional accommodation, friendly, welcoming staff.

Pros: Beautifully finished apartment. You can smell the pine from the wood finish as you walk in. We had a view onto mountain and the garden from our balcony. Kitchen well equipped. Gorgeous lighting and shower. Comfy bed. The staff were helpful and friendly. Location excellent at the start of route 1. Also close to cable car. If I can afford it I’d come to stay at the Waldrast again. First class accommodation for a special treat!

Pros: Lovely hotel, stylish minimalistic interiors, spotless, super friendly staff and great breakfast. You can step out and go hike directly into the forest or take the gondola up to Alpe di Siusi! Lively small village too!

Cons: Everything above farrrrrr outweighs the one minor point, the pillows in the room could be softer/fluffier/or perhaps an offering of a few different options. But it wouldn’t stop us staying at this fantastic place again.

Pros: The perfect place for a solo traveller looking to enjoy a few active days but come back to a warm, hospitable hotel. The staff is attentive and gracious. The grounds are immaculate and zen-like. There are local activities that are well-organized. The spa, sauna, and pool are the perfect place to wind down. The food and drink make it difficult to want to go eat anywhere else for the value (and wine list). Hotel Waldrast exceeded my expectations. It is no understatement to say it made my vacation one of the best I've taken in a long time. I will return with friends and family.
